Program

1.      Ethics in Our Environment

With the current business environment changing faster than ever before, key stakeholders within an organization need to be aware of what constitutes unethical behavior.  During this seminar, participants will discuss and review 1) the importance of ethics to key stakeholders within an organization, 2) ethics guidance from the AICPA, IIA and Indiana Board of Accountancy and also 3) red flags to help spot and deter unethical behavior.  NOTE: This course satisfies 2 credit hours of ethics requirement for applicable certifications.

Presented by James Reinhard, CIA, CPA, CISA

2.      Dealing With Fraud: Keeping the Fox Out of the Chicken Coup

Most occupational fraud is committed by first-time offenders and discovered through tips rather than audits.  Plans that focus primarily on audit controls are incomplete and leave your company or clients vulnerable.  People, not systems, commit fraud.  We often miss the fact that the fox is among us.  Participants in this 2-hour course will learn 1) how corporate cultures can cause even good employees to rationalize that committing fraud is not wrong, 2) how to recognize behavioral characteristics that signal unshareable pressures that foster fraudulent activities and 3) how to prevent fraud by promoting and engaging programs that assist troubled employees.

Presented by Allen Rader

3.      An Interactive Approach to Sharpen Your Fraud Investigation Skills

Internal and external auditors will enhance their investigation skills by participating in an exciting, fast-paced team competition that provides stimulating interaction and answers to complex issues.  This is a new concept in group learning developed by the discussion leader who provides an entertaining and rewarding experience unlike traditional methods of seminar structure.  In this 4-hour session, participants will learn 1) how to use proven methods to investigate suspected fraudulent activity, 2) how to deliver your findings in a litigation setting and 3) how to avoid expensive investigation mistakes.

Presented by John Straub, CPA/CFF, CFE, CIA, CFFA
